Install
Follow the shared Installing a theme guide to upload and activate the Silverpoint .zip in Ghost Admin. The steps below cover what to do immediately after activation.
First-run configuration
Section titled “First-run configuration”1. Confirm the color scheme
Section titled “1. Confirm the color scheme”color_scheme defaults to Dark, which is the intended starting point — photography reads best on a dark stage. If your publication calls for a lighter palette, set color_scheme to Light in Settings → Design → Customize, or to Auto to follow each reader’s system preference.
2. Set your homepage intro
Section titled “2. Set your homepage intro”In Ghost Admin, go to Settings → Design → Customize and set homepage_intro to a short line describing your publication. This appears beneath your site title above the gallery grid. The default is “A journal of light, land and the quiet hour.” — replace it with something specific to your work.
If homepage_intro is left at its default or left blank, you can change it at any time. The homepage is clean either way.
3. Choose a grid density
Section titled “3. Choose a grid density”grid_density controls how many photographs sit side by side in the gallery grid. The default is Balanced. Adjust it in Settings → Design → Customize:
- Spacious — fewer, larger images per row; suited to fine-art portfolios where each photograph demands attention.
- Balanced — a moderate grid; works well for both journals and portfolios.
- Dense — more images per row; suited to high-frequency publications or extensive archives.
4. Review the accent color
Section titled “4. Review the accent color”accent_color defaults to #b89b72, a tarnished-silver warmth. The accent appears on links, horizontal rules, and small typographic marks. Change it in Settings → Design → Customize if your publication has a distinct palette.
